It has a dark brown color and crispy texture which gets tender as you cook. Gundruk has a unique taste and fragrance once it is cooked.
The tender leaves are mildly sour and are usually added with potatoes, masuera, tomato, and spices and made into a soup commonly known as ‘Gundruk ko jhol’. It can also be made into a pickle known as Gundruk ko achar which has a salty, spicy, and savory taste loved by all.
